The press organization Alliance de la presse d’information générale (APIG) and 53 of its member press publishers, initiated a trademark and neighboring rights infringement action in June 2026 against Brave before the Paris Judicial court. According to APIG’s public statement, the dispute concerns Brave’s alleged unauthorised use of press publications and trademarks through AI-generated summaries of press publications and an index of more than 40 billion web pages. Among the remedies sought, the claimants are requesting financial compensation of over 80 million euros for the economic damage suffered. The case is currently before the Paris Judicial Court.
