The ruling National Liberation Front (FLN) won the election.
Algeria has a bicameral parliament comprising the upper house Council of the Nation, which has 174 members who serve six-year terms, and lower house People’s National Assembly with 407 members serving five-year terms.
The current President is Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
Algeria has a population of around 48 million and 24 million registered voters. In the 2026 elections, the voter turnout was 20.8%.
