Morocco is due to hold a general election on 23 September 2026.

Morocco has a bicameral legislature with the upper House of Councillors, which as 120 members serving six-year terms, and the lower House of Representatives, which has 395 members serving five-year terms and are elected by proportional representation.

Incumbent Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) party leads a coalition government comprising the RNI, the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) and the Istiqlal Party.

Morocco is a constitutional monarchy. A new head of government will be appointed by King Mohammed VI from the winning party.

Morocco has a population of around 39 million and 16 million registered voters. In the 2021 election, voter turnout was 50%.
