The United States will be holding mid-term elections on 3 November 2026 to elect members of Congress.

The United States has a bicameral legislature comprising the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives. The U.S. Senate has 100 senators who serve six-year terms; every two years 1/3 of the Senate is up for re-election. The U.S. House of Representatives has 435 members who serve two-year terms.

In the 2026 election, voters will be electing all members of the House of Representatives and 35 members in the Senate, which includes special elections in Florida and Ohio.

The United States has a population of around 349 million and around 217 million registered voters. Voter turnout in the 2022 mid-term elections was 52.2%.
